For 50+ years, Yoga Scotland has provided transformational educational programmes throughout Scotland. For prospective yoga teachers, our diploma-level teacher training awards graduates with the highest achievable qualification for yoga teachers in Scotland, which is externally verified and recognised worldwide. Our Foundation Yoga and Living Yoga courses offer students a pathway to further deepen their practice and knowledge and are often used as a precursor to teacher training.
We are one of the UK’s most experienced yoga training providers, offering learning opportunities for everyone eager to discover more about yoga. We’ve trained thousands of yoga lovers and teachers and have developed a range of time-tested, comprehensive training programmes which honour the ancient traditions of yoga.
Yoga Scotland is a registered Scottish Charity and the Governing Body for yoga in Scotland. Governing body status is recognised by Sport Scotland, the national agency for sport in Scotland. We are also recognised by the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMPSA) as an Education Partner. We welcome yogis from all schools.

Yoga Foundation Course
One-year, part-time certified foundational programme.
Yoga Teacher Training
Two-year, 500-hour diploma-certified training programme.
Living Yoga Course

Is there bursary support to help with costs?
What qualifications or experience do I need to apply for Teacher Training?
We highly recommend completing our Foundation Training programme before applying for our Diploma course. You will also need to have attended regular yoga classes for at least two years. We also accept students who have not completed our Foundation Training if they have completed other similar courses.
Can I do the courses online?
At Yoga Scotland we believe training needs to be an in-person experience, while some elements of our courses are delivered online, in-person training is fundamental to developing our yoga students
What is the difference between Foundation and Living Yoga courses?
Living Yoga is a progression course for many who have completed the Foundation training but don’t wish to pursue a teaching qualification.
