Yoga Scotland aims:
- to embrace yoga’s roots by honouring the philosophy of yoga: an inclusive practice of equality and equity for all
- to promote the safe practice of yoga in Scotland through trained, experienced and qualified teachers
- to help and guide each yoga student to gain a greater knowledge and understanding of all aspects of yoga, through study and practice as well as providing access to education and training
- to provide opportunities for the general public to find out more about yoga
- to maintain and improve the standards of yoga teaching and to organise teacher education
- to provide ongoing training for existing yoga teachers
- to co-operate with and support other organisations (national and international) with similar objectives.
Volunteer
Yoga Scotland is a registered charity with The Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator, OSCR. We employ tutors to deliver our courses and administrative staff to help run the organisation. The elected Board of Trustees, all volunteers, manage and guide the work of the organisation in accordance with our constitution.
Practice Karma Yoga as a Yoga Scotland Trustee
The Board of Trustees offer a diverse skill-set, knowledge and experience that contribute to Yoga Scotland’s future growth and development. If you have a skill that you would like to share with us i.e you have experience of fundraising or developing training then please do get in touch via our Contact page.
Trustees can claim travel expenses according to our guidelines, however your time and services are given freely.

Insurance for Teachers
Insurance for Yoga Scotland teachers and student teachers is provided by Yoga-Link through DSC Insurance Service as part of the teaching membership package.
Insurance is offered to all teachers provided that they meet their CPD requirements each membership year.
New members wishing to take out insurance will need to complete an online scheme enquiry form/s to supply their details at https://wellbeinginsurance.co.uk/instructors-therapists-quote/ Please give your membership number in the ‘other information’ box provided to get the discount.
